BigTreetop Stories

Here are some stories of how customers and organizations are using BigTreetop.com to make a better future together.

The Goods for Cooks Coffee Roast Thinkup
Goods for Cooks used the BigTreetop.com platform to conduct an online “Think-Up” in December of 2007 – where for a period of time customers and employees could visit the Goods for Cooks “Treetop”, submit their ideas for a new exclusive Goods For Cooks coffee blend, and rate other customer and employee ideas. In the end, Andrew turned the top-rated idea – a Guatemalan blend of %80 medium and %20 french roast for “afternoon lattes and milk drinks”, submitted by a customer named Jessie – into a real product, produced in partnership with Brown County Coffee, and sold in Goods for Cooks. According to Andrew the coffee, named “Jessie’s Blend” has sold quite well, and is still being sold today.

Bloomingfoods Relish
On June 2nd 2007, AnnMarie, a BigTreetop user and Bloomingfoods East customer, requested on BigTreetop that the store start carrying organic sweet relish. By June 16th, the store once again had the relish, and AnnMarie sang the store’s praises. While this in itself is only a small victory for Bloomingfoods, AnnMarie promptly emailed over 30 of her friends to let them know, which was a big win for the store.

BigTreetop.com Feature and Community Ideas
The BigTreetop.com team is already getting fantastic feedback from our early users. For example, JennePenne, a BigTreetop.com user, suggested soon after we launched that we add a feature that would allow a user to put live urls in experience or idea posts that would allow people to refer to other websites. Since all the votes from users for the idea were positive (and we thought it was a good idea too), we implemented it confidently, and it is now an important feature of the system. Jennepenne has also recently suggested that the administrators of all of the Organizational Treetops get together to discuss their use of BigTreetop.
